On Sunday, May 12th 1991, Offaly Senior Hurlers created history when they defeated Wexford to win the county’s and to-date only National Hurling League title. Having come through Division 2 of the National League, following a play-off, they defeated Waterford in the quarter-final and followed up with a victory over Tipperary in the semi-final, before defeating Wexford in the decider in front
of 22,749 spectators at Croke Park. The victorious team and management from 1991 are special guests at Sunday’s county finals and will be introduced to the crowd during the interval between the two games.
