A good day in the offices!
Offaly hurlers hit a big score at home to Kerry while the footballers returned from Aughrim with a four point victory in their Allianz League games on Sunday, 16th May
Hurling: Offaly 2-28, Kerry 0-13
Offaly have suffered a lot at the hands of Kerry in recent years, but turned a corner on Sunday with an emphatic victory in Bord na Mona O’Connor Park.
Following hot on the heels of their opening win of the season away to Meath, Michael Fennelly’s charges dominated most of the game.
Ahead by 0-6 to 0-5 at the first half water break, The Faithful County surged ahead and had built up a 2-16 to 0-7 interval lead, with the goals scored by Liam Langton and Jason Sampson. There were no further goals but Offaly added another dozen points to build up their confidence ahead of their next challenge away to Carlow.

Football: Offaly 1-14, Wicklow 1-10
Offaly footballers enjoyed a four point winning margin in Aughrim and the margin of victory could have been bigger at the end.
Despite the concession of an early goal against the run of play, Offaly hit some wonderful points in the first half and then, just before the break, Colm Doyle slotted home a well-taken goal.
Offaly found it difficult to build on their lead in the second half and Wicklow cut the gap to just three points with ten minutes remaining. But substitutes Niall McNamee, Shane Horan and Cian Farrell were among the players who stepped up to contribute important points late on and ensure John Maughan’s men approach next Saturday’s fixture versus Limerick in a positive frame of mind.
