Shinrone secured a big win over reigning champions St Rynagh’s in the Molloy Enviornmental Systems Offaly Senior Hurling Championship quarter-final at St Brendan’s Park on Sunday evening. They bounced back from a big defeat to Belmont in their previous outing to oust the Banager team that was chasing a four-in-a-row.

The final score was 1-15 to 1-13, with Jason Sampson raising the green flag for Shinrone.

On Saturday evening, Birr overcame Ballinamere by 3-17 to 0-11 in O’Connor Park.

The semi-final draw is: Belmont v Shinrone; Birr v Kilcormac-Killoughey

In the Senior ‘B’ Hurling Championship semi-finals, Clara defeated Birr while Tullamore edged out Kilcormac-Killoughey, after extra time.

There was a lot of drama in the Intermediate Hurling Championship final on Sunday afternoon. Seir Kieran goalkeeper Joseph Connors fired home a 20 metre free deep in injury-time to salvage a drawn for the Clareen side against Shamrocks.

Meanwhile, in the relegation play-offs, Seir Kieran preserved their Senior status at the expense of Clodiagh Gaels, while Lusmagh beat Drumcullen by four points in the Senior ‘B’ grade.

SHC Quarter-Finals – Birr 3-17 Ballinamere 0-11; Shinrone 1-15 St Rynagh’s 1-13.

SHC ‘B’ Semi-Finals – Clara 0-18 Birr 1-09; Tullamore 3-27 Kilcormac-Killoughey 1-31 (aet).

IHC Final – Seir Kieran 2-09 Shamrocks 1-12.

SHC Relegation Play-Off – Seir Kieran 4-18 Clodiagh Gaels 0-13

SHC ‘B’ Relegation Play-Off – Lusmagh 1-19 Drumcullen 0-18.
