Ballinamere and Kilcormac-Killoughey are the first two teams into the Molloy Environmental Systems Offaly Senior Hurling Championship semi-finals after topping their respective groups at the weekend.
Ballinamere beat last year’s champions Shinrone to ensure top spot in Group 2 on Saturday evening, while Coolderry’s victory over Belmont ensured they too progressed to the knock-out stages in that group.
On Sunday, K-K maintained their 100% record by defeating Birr and so advance directly to the penultimate round, while Birr and St Rynagh’s are into the quarter-finals.
The draw for the quarter-finals is: Birr v Shinrone and Coolderry v St Rynagh’s. (Ballinamere and Kilcormac-Killoughey cannot meet in a semi-final, but there will be a draw after the quarter-finals to finalise their opponents). Meanwhile, Kinnitty and Seir Kieran must contest the relegation play-off.
In the Senior ‘B’ Hurling Championship, the four teams into the semi-finals are Clodiagh Gaels, Kilcormac-Killoughey, Birr and Lusmagh, while Clara and Shamrocks must meet in the relegation play-off.
This year’s Intermediate Hurling Championship final will be contested by Carrig & Riverstown and Coolderry following their semi-final wins over St Rynagh’s and Drumcullen, respectively.
