Ferbane and Tullamore came through two dramatic Tullamore Court Hotel Senior Football Championship semi-finals and will battle it out to win the Dowling Cup at Glenisk O’Connor Park on Sunday, 24th September.
This will be their first time to meet in the final since 1992, but already this season Tullamore defeated Ferbane in the first round of the Championship.
Tullamore will be hoping to regain the title which they last won two years ago, while Ferbane were most recently the champions in 2019.
On Saturday evening, Ferbane came through against reigning champions by 0-20 to 1-14 after extra time. Rhode led for most of the game, but Ferbane levelled deep in injury-time and were the better team in the extra 20 minutes.
Tullamore also endured some nervous moments after they fell behind to Edenderry late in the second half, but popped over some crucial frees to emerge by 1-13 to 1-12.
