Coolderry and St Rynagh’s will meet in the Offaly Senior Hurling Championship for the first time since 2015. It will be held on Sunday, 21st November.
On Saturday, Coolderry defeated Shinrone by 3-13 to 1-16 at St Brendan’s Park, Birr. Shinrone actually hit the first goal through Jason Sampson, but Coolderry hit back with green flags from Kevin Connolly and Daniel Miller to lead by 2-7 to 1-4 at the interval. Cian Burke hit a third goal for the winners early in the second half.
Luke O’Connor fired home the only goal of the game in Bord na Mona O’Connor Park on Sunday after only four minutes. St Rynagh’s led by 1-10 to 0-7 at the break, and 1-18 to 0-15 with just over five minutes remaining. But K/K finished strongly and registered five points in a row, only to see the final score reading 1-18 to 0-20.
Elsewhere, Birr won the Intermediate Hurling Championship title with a 0-16 to 1-12 victory over Shamrocks, and Carrig & Riverstown defeated Birr in the Junior B decider by 3-12 to 1-17.
And in the Senior B Hurling Championship semi-finals, Clodiagh Gaels got the better of Lusmagh by 0-23 to 0-17, while Tullamore eliminated Clara by 2-14 to 0-13.
