This weekend will provide the last opportunity for most football clubs in Offaly to reach the knock-out stages of their respective championships.
Round 3 games will take place in all grades, with most clubs still in contention to progress.
As score difference, etc., can come into play, the key games in each respective grade will take place simultaneously. There is not the facility to stream all games live, but six games will be broadcast over the weekend on www.247.tv/gaa. Please access their website and register to support your team, as all games are still behind closed doors.
The current state of play in each group may be accessed here: https://offaly.gaa.ie/fixtures-results/
Just click on the link, go to the grade on the left hand side and when you’ve selected the relevant grade, the table and fixtures & results are available in the drop down menu.
In the Senior Football Championship, last year’s champions Ferbane (Group 1) and the 2019 winners Rhode (Group 2) are the only teams with two wins out of two, and are fancied to take one of the two semi-final slots available from each group.
This Sunday, Ferbane take on Shamrocks who they defeated in last year’s quarter-final, while also in Group 1, Edenderry face Bracknagh.
Rhode will play a spirited Cappincur side in Group 2, where there is a lot at stake in the Clara v Tullamore fixture.
