Offaly GAA is pleased to announce the appointment of Damien Coleman as the new Operations Manager of Offaly GAA. He will commence work in the first week of 2023.
Damien is a hugely respected figure in the GAA. He worked with Connacht GAA as a Sports Development Manager (Provincial Hurling Director), and Galway Games Manager over a 28 year period. These roles covered national, provincial and county personnel and projects management, strategies and operations.
Internationally, Damien has contributed to the expansion of coaching and games development structures in New York for over a decade. Additionally, he is a Trainer of Coach Developers, with the GAA and Coaching Ireland.
Damien has recently successfully completed a Master’s Degree in Sport Management at U.C.D., having studied subject areas including Leadership and People Management; Strategy and Operations; Sports Marketing; Governance and Law; Event Management and Sustainability; and High Performance Management.
A member of Portumna GAA club in Galway, Damien served as Club Chairman and Club Coaching Officer over a 12 year period, while he also played hurling for club and county at all age grades.
