Eugene Coughlan enters Offaly Hurling Hall of Fame

Seir Kieran’s Eugene Coughlan is the latest inductee into the Bridge House Hotel, Offaly Hurling Hall of Fame. Eugene will receive his award at the Awards night in the Bridge House Hotel on January 16th next. Eugene played for Offaly from 1975 until 1990, making his debut in November 1975 when he came on as a substitute against Waterford in the National Hurling league, he played his final game against Laois in November 1990 wearing the familiar No 3 jersey.

In all Eugene made 120 League and Championship appearances during a glittering career which saw him win Two All-Ireland Medals, 7 Leinster Senior Medals and two All-Star Awards. While he also won four Offaly Senior Championship medals with Seir Kieran, captaining the side to their first success in 1988.
