Offaly GAA are pleased to announce the appointment (subject to ratification at next week’s county committee meeting) of Kevin Ryan from Waterford as the new manager of the Offaly Senior hurling team. Kevin brings a high level of experience to the job, having been part of the Waterford management team for 4 years during which time they won the Munster Senior Hurling title. He went on to manage Carlow for four years guiding them to Christy Ring and Division 2 titles. He also managed Antrim for three years, the highlight of which was reaching the U21 All-Ireland final following a semi-final win over Wexford.
On the club front he managed Mount Sion to Minor, U21 and Senior County titles and Oulart-the-Ballagh to win the Wexford senior hurling Championship.
As a player he won five Senior Championship with Mount Sion and Captained Waterford at both U21 and senior level.
Kevin will be joined on the management team by former Waterford star Paul Flynn as a forwards coach and the remainder of his backroom team will be announced later.
