Offaly 0-19 Galway North 0-16
Offaly recorded a brilliant win in the Corn Michael Hogan ‘A’ Group of the Celtic Challenge. This was a hard fought win after extra time in which the determination and spirit of the Offaly players delivered the victory. This group of players have grown into a determined team who work for each other and have that traditional Offaly trait of ‘never say die’ and it has carried them to the final.
Great credit is due to the players and team management of Eunan Martin, Eamon Hoctor, Liam Bergin and Michael Cleary. Special thanks to all the supporters who were in Birr to support the team and [provide a great atmosphere for the game.
Also special thanks to Birr club for making the pitch available and to Pat Thompson and Joe Kinsella who looked after the venue on the day.
They now move on to Nowlan Park this Saturday to take on South Kilkenny in the inaugural Celtic Challenge in the ‘A’ final.
