Tullamore emerged as the big winners from Round 3 of the Tullamore Court Hotel Senior Football Championship, as their 1-17 to 0-9 victory over Clara was enough to secure a semi-final place from Group 2.
Despite losing their first two games, ‘The Blues’ have squeezed through to the penultimate round with a better scoring difference than Clara and Cappincur.
Rhode topped the group thanks to a 3-13 to 0-10 win over Cappincur, with Conor McNamee (2) and Niall McNamee netting the goals.
In Group 1, reigning champions Ferbane also maintained their 100% record with a 1-12 to 1-9 defeat of Shamrocks, while Edenderry secured second spot in the group with a 2-17 to 3-10 victory over a gallant Bracknagh side. Oisin Kelly scored the only goal for the 2019 kingpins, while Rory Egan and Cian Farrell raised green flags for Edenderry.
The semi-finals will take place in two weeks’ time, while Clara and Bracknagh must meet to avoid relegation.
