Reigning champions Tullamore and 2021 winners Rhode will again battle it out for the Dowling Cup in O’Connor Park on Sunday, 25th September.
On Saturday evening, Rhode came through a dramatic penalty shoot-out against Ferbane (3-2) after their semi-final ended deadlocked after extra-time. The final score after 80 minutes of intense football was Rhode 0-17, Ferbane 1-14.
Then, on Sunday afternoon, ‘The Blues’ came through comfortably against Edenderry by 1-14 to 0-10, having finished strongly.
It sets up another crunch tie between the two most successful clubs in Offaly football.
There were also semi-final clashes at Senior ‘B’, Intermediate and Junior ‘A’ grades, and these were some of the main results of the weekend:
SFC S-F: Rhode 0-17 Ferbane 1-14 (a.e.t. Rhode win 3-2 on pens); Tullamore 1-14 Edenderry 0-10.
SFC ‘B’ S-F: Clonbullogue 2-17 Tubber 1-12 (a.e.t.); Bracknagh 3-11 Walsh Island 0-12 (a.e.t.).
IFC S-F: Ballycommon 0-13 Tullamore 1-08; Raheen 1-11 St Brigid’s 0-07.
JFC ‘A’ S-F: Ballinagar 0-15 Edenderry 0-08; Kilcormac-Killoughey 0-11 Rhode 0-07.
